A two-minute walkthrough for firefighters and fire officers. Your number takes about two minutes, and you don’t need to give an email to see it.

This is the free FDNY pension calculator for firefighters and fire officers. It takes about two minutes, and you don’t need to give an email to see your number.
Start with your membership date from your pension fund record, not your academy graduation. It sets your tier. EMTs and paramedics are in a different plan, so this one is for the fire side.
Then your final average salary, or your best estimate. For Tier 3, it’s the average of your highest three years in a row, with overtime and longevity included.
Next, your years of service and a date you’re thinking of putting your papers in. For Tier 3, the yearly inflation raise phases in over the three years before your 23-year mark.
Then your rank at retirement. From 25 years, a share of your rank’s top pay is added to the salary your pension is figured on.
Your estimated yearly pension appears on the right, with the monthly figure. It’s an estimate. Your final number comes from the pension fund.
In Step 2, your age turns this into your Pension Printout. Type it in and press Get my Pension Printout.
The printout lays out your pension, the $12,000 a year the Variable Supplements Fund adds, and what your spouse would receive under each survivor option.
Your pension is one number. Retirement is six decisions. The printout ends with them, and the free 15-minute call is where you go through them.
The rest is optional: add five answers to your printout, open your retirement paycheck or your 457(b), and answer a yes or no question about the World Trade Center.
